German Shepherds are a working do breed. They need an active lifestyle. Unless, you lead a very active life or are ready to make your lifestyle much healthier, this breed may not be the right one for you
There are dog guardians and there are German Shepherd guardians. You will have a more active lifestyle, know a lot about dog training and have a house filled with dog toys or remains of them.
German Shepherds rank top ten in the most intelligent dog breeds. They not only know your schedule, they know you. Probably better than you know yourself.
This is why you need a very active lifestyle. German Shepherds will not be content with half hour of exercise. They need at least 2 hours of exercise regularly.
Your pup will either get bored of his current toys, or tear them apart quickly. You will have to occupy your pup physically and mentally to completely exhaust him out.
Obedience is a must if you have a GSD. If not trained from early ages, your pup can easily become aggresive.

Wherever you go, your dog will follow. GSDs have a need to constantly protect their guardian and they will do anything for it.
It is always a good idea to first check in with your landlord before getting a GSD. Some landlords may not be okay with a big dog. Thus, you may have to find a new house.
GSDs need a lot of space to roam around. They are an independent breed. Thus, you must get a house with a big yard. An apartment will not work.
